A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS!
It’s Danielle here! If you have read my profile or know me, you would know that I have a few favorite things. Coffee is for sure one of those things. If you haven’t met me yet, JUMP on over and quickly read up (Danielle’s BIO). Back to what I was saying. Two other things that I love is my time with God and traveling.
A couple of months ago I started to combine all of these things into adventures. If you follow me on social media (Also in my BIO) sometimes you will see my adventures on there. I rarely tell people the reasons for my trips because they are for times of meditation and making life choices and I need to just get away from all the distractions that life in general throws at me, but that is me. I am one of those people that need time to pull out all the colored pens and post-it’s and just study and talk with God. When I take an adventure, it is always somewhere new. I normally decide the day before and jump in the car the next morning without an ounce of coffee in me and my Bible, pens, and sticky notes.
Caffeine Connection is for your benefit. I have marked one already with more to come. I will include my personal take with pictures. So, I encourage you to jump in and read about these places. If you live close to one of these places or just want to travel somewhere to have your own adventure or rendezvous with a friend. Pick a place on the map that I have marked and scroll down to read about it. Enjoy!!
C & C COFFEE COMPANY
Why HERE? This trip was unexpected and with no plans of visiting the C&C Coffee shop. A couple that I am close to invited me to visit them while they worked on ministry things for a couple of days. We couldn’t meet up half way so I jumped on the opportunity to drive a couple of hours and help out in whatever way that I could. I arrived that afternoon and they weren’t home yet, so I jumped in my car, google searched and drove 5 minutes to check this place out.
What did I THINK? Oh, my goodness! I love sidewalk shops and this is what it is. I loved the place. There was friendly service, it was a cozy/peaceful atmosphere, and first class in every area. Lots of tables and seating. Enternet? Check! A ton of options for drinks (Not just coffee) and merchandise. So don’t hold back you non-coffee drinkers.
Would I go AGAIN? Yes!!! I Actually stopped in again the next day before I came home.
Here are their social media’s and some pictures that I took of the place.
Have you ever tried biscotti? How many of you don’t know what biscotti is? That was me nine months ago. I tried it at our local farmer’s market this past summer and it was love at first dunk.
At the end of summer, the farmer’s market was over and so was the supply. I went straight to Pinterest and found some recipes. Tweaked it a bit and it was delicious!
Some stayed at the Patterson home, but I also was attending a birthday party for a close friend that evening and wanted to give her some. She loves coffee, and biscotti goes great with coffee.
I made two kinds, orange & cranberry / cherry & almond.
To my surprise . . . they turned out great for the first time – Gift worthy!
Purchased some of my friend’s favorite things, including coffee to go with the biscotti.
Bought a gorgeous looking purse as a gift bag and placed all the treasures inside.
The finished product!
P.S. She loved it!
What are some unique items that you have put gifts in? Let me know!
Click on the purses to start shopping! Love these purses! Olivia got me my first MK purse for Christmas! Couldn’t find it on Amazon though. 🙁

3 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 cup melted butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 orange zested
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 oz. white chocolate not white chips or it doesn’t melt good

In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt

Place in refrigerator to harden (I keep my biscotti in the refrigerator in an air tight container)
Two years ago I started simplifying and stream-lining my home. I will tell you the full story another time, but for now, I thought I would share my latest project! The fridge seems to be a catch-all for schedules, pictures, magnetic toys, and Sunday School…
Saving Lives Through Prayer and Faith
59.1 Million & 15.1 Million
These are not just numbers that are hard to fathom but are the numbers of children who have been and still are in need. We have become so focused on our “American lifestyle” and keeping ourselves so busy that we have forgotten that there is still a lost and dying world.
“Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18:14
Let me be honest. I knew that there were children being aborted daily. I also knew that there were orphans in need of families. Yet, I could not picture it all. I had no idea that there have been 59.1 million children aborted since 1973. I also didn’t know that there are 15.1 million orphans in the world right now. When I looked into it my eyes were opened a little.
In December of 2017, The Lord was molding my prayer time with Him and was making it more precious than it had ever been before. God placed it on my heart to try and work on my faith in Him. That is when 365 Children came to mind. I knew if I had enough Faith in my God, the One that made the entire universe, that I could accomplish some BIG things.
“Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.” Psalms 82:3
Two groups of Children were laid on my heart. Orphans and Children in the womb. So, I made a decision that I was going to pray that God would save 365 Children in the Womb this year and 365 Orphans in 2018. I am putting faith in my God that He will do so. The number 365 also represents the days that I will commit to pray for these “little ones” in 2018. I may not know who they are and may never know, but God does and I trust that if I do my part, God will do His. The number may not be as big as 15.1 million or 59.1 million, but 730 children are far better than the 10 I prayed for in 2017.
“Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:9
When I read this verse two people come to my mind, George Muller and Gladys Aylward. Both of these people lived sacrificially and gave so much to help the poor and needy. George Muller cared for 10,000 + orphans and Gladys Aylward cared for 100 orphans as she traveled for 12 days through China during wartime. If you have never heard of either of these people, please look into the extraordinary ways they impacted the lives of children. Below there are two books that I loved reading. For a quick read, I have linked short Bios for you.
We are called to make a difference, take action, and be a voice in prayer for these children! It doesn’t mean you can’t take a stand. Step out of your comfort zone. Wear clothes that represent you being pro-Life. God loves these children as much as he loves you and me.
You may not be called to the mission field but we are all called to pray. Widen your prayer spectrum and pray for these “little ones” Take the commitment with me and pray for these children every day and be able to say at the end of the year “I prayed for 365 children.”
